source link As you may have read previously here, it will contain 100 great recipes and is being entirely devised and written by myself (with a little willing help in the kitchen too of course!). No ghost writers, no food consultants – just me, my pen and paper, my kitchen and my laptop.

The first stage of honing down the list of recipes took about 8 weeks. I had to come up with well over 100 dishes and whittle them down. And once I had whittled them down, with the invaluable support of my editor at Hodder, Nicky Ross, we then whittled them down again. And again. This ultimately meant creating another 25 new recipes.
see I thought that getting the recipe list would be the most time-consuming part of the project but I was very wrong. I love writing – and I especially love food writing – but the time taken to get the recipes down on paper has surprised me. My main problem is that I am a perfectionist and I want every word to be right. I also need to ensure that all the recipes read well and, of course, actually work and taste delicious. And when I say “work”, I mean they have to work in the same way as the recipes you are used to on the blog. They must be easy, foolproof, toddler-proof, fresh and tasty. Any which look too complex, or “cheffy”, immediately get re-worked. And re-worked again!

It is no exaggeration to say that I am working from first thing in the morning until the early hours, every single day at the moment – all in the hope of producing a cook book I can be proud of and that you can all enjoy.
